Beginnings

In just over a week, I will be moving from Washington DC to London to begin my life.

Ok, ok. I've lived a pretty interesting life so far. So I guess what I mean is: I'm moving to London to begin life on my terms. Or as close to "my terms" as it gets given all the randomness, confusion, and other people there are!

Nothing is ever purely on our terms. We have to learn compromise, flexibility, a little give and take. But there does come a point - and I think I've reached it - when all the hard work and sacrifice you put into life has you wondering, "Ok, I think it's my turn for a while..."

I used to think life just happened, and we tagged along. But recently I've discovered that it's much more honest (and exciting!) to live actively, to ask the "big questions" (who am I? what's my purpose?) and demand big answers in return.

I mean, is it so wrong to want a lot from life?

So this website is devoted to asking big questions and seeking big, juicy answers in return. Or, if that fails (and no doubt it will), to at least find bigger, more enticing questions to ask. 

I'd like this site to be a conversation - so please feel free to email me with your thoughts and questions about life, the universe, and our teensy but significant place therein.
